Opening a studio

Guest, Studio, and House — three ways to keep a desk, none of them a crowd.

A studio is a desk with a door. You do not join Hikari. You open a room.

Guest

Enough to see if the house is quiet. One room. Pages stay on this machine. The lamp burns on a short wick.

Use Guest when you are trying the measure of the page, not when you are keeping a book.

Studio

All four rooms. Pages can travel with a key you keep. Sharing is named. There is still no feed.

This is the plan most writers want. In the template it is a UI. Connect billing yourself.

House

A floor for a small staff. Seats have names. A page can wait overnight for a person. There is no anonymous inbox.

Write a letter from the house rules if you are replacing this with a real floor.

After you open

  1. Pick a room.
  2. Give the page a title you could say aloud.
  3. Write until the lamp has something to look at.
  4. Close the shutter when you leave.
